Germany - Day 3 Part V - Burg Satzvey

The day was nearly done by the time we reached Burg Satzvey. This old moated castle is one of the nicest in this part of Germany. It's roots go back to 1396 and it is owned by the family of Count Beissel von Gymnich who still live at the castle as they have for the past 300+ years. There are a couple of restaurants here and facilities for banquets/weddings.

They had a few spare cannons left over from the crusades.

We had a beer here before moving on.

Too much time in the biergarten? See the sign.

Day 4 is next.
