Most of the group returned to Machu Picchu but Sigrid and I decided to stay in town and look around. It had been raining all morning and we weren't anxious, no matter how fabulous Machu Picchu is, to climb around on wet slippery rocks and try to keep the cameras dry.

We are in a jungle environment as you can see from all the vegetation on the tiled roof.

We had a leisurely breakfast at the
Inkaterra Hotel.

Here they are again......the same little people who were on the wall of our first hotel room in Lima.

Just outside our hotel, the river continues to roar.

Train tracks run on both sides of the
Inkaterra Cafe. Sigrid loves trains so it is no problem.

We walked around
Aguas Calientes a little and got caught in a torrential downpour. We hid under
awnings until the rain slowed.

Back on the grounds of the hotel, I found a few nice flowers to photo.
