KC Royals Game With the Carlsons

On June 20th, my cousin Doug Carlson and his wife Jane and son Andrew came to visit us. Doug and family live in Littleton, CO. They are on a mission to visit all the major league baseball parks over the next few years and that is what brought them to KC. After attending a Royals game while here, they will drive to St Louis and catch another game there. What a great goal to set and achieve!

While they were here, we toured KC and ate a little Jack Stack BBQ. This photo was taken at the Quality Hill Park with Kansas City, Kansas and the Municipal Airport in the background. A statue commemorating the Lewis and Clark Expedition that passed by this spot on the Missouri River around 1803.

The morning of the game, we went to one of Sigrid's and my favorite restaurants, Succotash. Succotash is a little "hippie" or eclectic or I don't really know how to describe it. In any case it is just different. Andrew is in shock and awe as he prepares to eat his pancake.

Jane and Sigrid are having fun as well.

Off to the Royals game. We have early entry tickets which allow us to visit the Royals Hall of Fame and watch batting practice before the game.

Andrew and Jane pose with Buck O'Neil.

Andrew got a ball from one of the players during batting practice.

A pretty evening for baseball.

One of the worlds largest scoreboards.
