S America/Antarctica - 1/07/2014 - At Sea - The Zaandam

In an earlier post, I gave you a few details about our ship's size and some of it's features.  Since we are at sea today, I roamed the ship and took a few photos of the ship's interior.

The ms Zaandam has a musical theme in it's decor.  The colors and finishes are very rich with deep tones and lots of polished brass.  The crew is constantly cleaning the ship and keeping the brass finger print free.  I didn't photo every lounge/library/game room/spa etc. on the ship.  The Rotterdam Dining Room and the Lido pool area photos are in other posts.  Here is the sampling.

The casino.

The Mondriaan Lounge is where all the large scale shows take place as well as all the presentations on shore excursions, wildlife, history of ports, etc.

At the center atrium, is an organ the stands three decks in height.

The keyboard for the organ is on the Lower Promenade Deck.  They had at least one organ recital while we were on the cruise.

The ship has art niches all over the place with really fine vases and paintings.

The Crows Nest is a lounge on Deck 9 with panoramic windows looking out over the bow of the ship and the port and starboard sides.  It is a very popular place so getting a seat is a challenge.

Cruising is great.  We are ready to go again not long after getting home from a long trip like this one.  The next and final post will be Valparaiso and Santiago, Chile.
