We sat on the veranda off and on all day long today since we were at sea. We really enjoy the breeze and the sea air. It is pretty common to encounter a school of flying fish in these waters. They are amazing little fish. We probably saw hundreds of them if not thousands on the trip. Sometimes it is a single fish and at other times there could be 50 of them in the air all at the same time.
These fish are small....maybe 6 inches and they fly pretty fast. I know that they can fly for up to 1,000 feet if they choose to go that far. They fly to avoid predators. Taking photos of the fish was even more challenging than yesterday's dolphins.

Tomorrow, we will be back at Fort Lauderdale for a trip into the Everglades before continuing with the cruise.
