Sigrid's Surprise Party - January 22, 2012

The family wanted to have a party to celebrate Sigrid's new US Citizenship. Scott volunteered to have the party at his house and to do all the planning and coordination. It was a surprise party which made it difficult for me since Sigrid is always curious about where we are going and what we are going to do. She thought it was just dinner with Scott. Of course, she wanted to bring something to help and I had to put her off on that since she had no idea how many people were going to be there.

The surprise only lasted until we got to Scott's house and she saw all the familiar cars and the decorations Scott hung on the front porch gave it all away.

Scott worked hard on the party. He prepared an excellent smoked brisket. Other family members brought Potatos Au Gratin, green bean casserole, hot rolls, and a vegetable platter. There was more than enough to eat.

Scott also arranged for the cake. The store did a great job of decorating it.

Good 'ole red, white, and blue.

Sigrid served up the cake for everyone.

A few family members couldn't make it to the party due to illness, but we had a nice group and had a great time.
